DHDC Mardan

Introduction (Divisional Health Development Center Mardan)

In 1994, family Health Project, a World bank funded project established Divisional Health Development center (DHDC) Mardan. This was mainly a teaching and training institution. The objective was to develop the human resource and enhance the capacity in public sector specially the health department, these activities were used to sponsored by the then Family Health Project.

In  December 1999, when the family Health project was closed, all the DHDCs of the province including DHDC Mardan was handed over to Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health department, and all DHDCs, Nursing Schools and Premedical Training Institute were declared as an allied institutes of PHSA and were given administrative and financial control to PHSA

Vision:

To work, within parameters of the charter, to create and disseminate knowledge in the fields of Health, in order to contribute to the process of strengthen the existing health services delivery

Mission

To equip the existing and upcoming health Staff with intellectual, social and scientific knowledge and skills through different trainings in varied academic disciplines at par with international standards by establishing state of the art academic facilities and provision of highly qualified teaching faculty.

To provide an opportunity for sharing ideas and experiences and a safe learning environment for developing new skills, generation new ideas, exploring sensitive issues, and building self-confidence.

Objectives

The main objectives of DHDC

  • Working as teaching and training institution and is imparting training to the health personnel of the district for capacity building.
  • To provide trainings to in service health professional, for the improvement of health services care delivery.
  • To conduct, organize health system survey
  • To provide technical support with in district to health agencies if needed
  • Coordination with NGOs/CBOs for capacity building
