Public Health Schools

Public Health Schools under PHSA train Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) and community health workers through the Two-Year LHV Diploma programme, strengthening maternal and child health services at the grassroots level in both rural and urban Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. PHSA currently runs Public Health Schools at Nishterabad Peshawar, Hayatabad Peshawar, and Abbottabad.

1. Public Health School Nishterabad Peshawar.

Public Health School, Nishterabad Peshawar is one of PHSA's public health training institutions, located in the Nishtar Abad locality of Peshawar.

The School offers the Two-Year Diploma in Lady Health Visitor (LHV), training women from across the province to deliver maternal, child health, and family planning services at the community level, and typically admits around 60 students per academic session.

As the founding campus of PHSA's public-health-school network — which also includes sister schools in Hayatabad and Abbottabad — it has trained generations of LHVs who now serve in Basic Health Units and Rural Health Centres throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

2. Public Health School, Hayatabad Peshawar
Public Health School, Hayatabad Peshawar is one of the three functional Public Health Schools administered by PHSA, located in the Hayatabad locality of Peshawar.

Like its sister campuses, it delivers the Two-Year Diploma in Lady Health Visitor (LHV), preparing women health workers to provide antenatal, postnatal, immunisation, and family planning services in their home communities.

The School allows PHSA to widen access to LHV training for students from Peshawar and the surrounding districts without concentrating all capacity at a single campus.

3. Public Health School, Abbottabad
Public Health School, Abbottabad extends PHSA's Lady Health Visitor training programme to the Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Offering the same Two-Year LHV Diploma taught at the Peshawar campuses, the School gives students from Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, and the surrounding hill districts the opportunity to qualify as Lady Health Visitors close to home, strengthening the maternal and child health workforce serving Hazara's Basic Health Units and Rural Health Centres.

4. Public Health School D. I. Khan

Public Health School, D.I.Khan is one of PHSA's public health training institutions, located in the D.I.Khan in south Region of KP.

The School offers the Two-Year Diploma in Lady Health Visitor (LHV), training women from across the province to deliver maternal, child health, and family planning services at the community level, and typically admits around 60 students per academic session.
