Paramedic Institutes

PHSA-affiliated Paramedic Institutes offer the Two-Year Allied Health Sciences Diploma, training laboratory technicians, operation theatre technicians, and other allied health professionals who form the backbone of primary and secondary healthcare delivery across the province. The network includes the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Post Graduate Paramedical Institute (ZAB PGPI) Peshawar, and the Paramedical Institutes of Medical Technology (PIMT) at D.I.Khan, Swat, and Abbottabad.

1. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Post Graduate Paramedical Institute (ZAB PGPI), Peshawar

Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Post Graduate Paramedical Institute (ZAB PGPI), Peshawar was established in 1998 by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department and is recognised by the KP Faculty of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences.

Located on Budhni Road, Dauranpur, near the Northern Bypass and OPF Colony in Peshawar, the Institute offers a Two-Year Diploma programme (morning and evening shifts) across a range of paramedical disciplines, and has recently inaugurated a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences under an agreement with Khyber Medical University, covering specialties such as radiology, emergency and intensive care, radiotherapy, pathology, cardiology, and surgical technology.

With a dedicated academic block, library, and alumni support network, ZAB PGPI serves as PHSA's flagship post-graduate paramedical training centre in the provincial capital.

2. PIMT Abbottabad

The Paramedical Institute (PIMT), Abbottabad is one of PHSA's affiliated paramedical training institutes serving the Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Recognised by the KP Faculty of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences, the Institute offers the Two-Year Allied Health Sciences Diploma, training laboratory technicians, operation theatre technicians, and other allied health cadre who go on to serve in hospitals and health facilities across Abbottabad and the surrounding districts.

3. PIMT Swat

The Paramedical Institute (PIMT), Swat was established in 1981 as the Government Paramedical Institute, Swat, and has since grown into a fully-equipped, modern paramedical training facility.

It offers the Two-Year Allied Health Sciences Diploma, preparing laboratory technicians, operation theatre technicians, and other allied health professionals for the Health Department's hospitals and health facilities across the Malakand region.

4. PIMT D.I.Khan

The Paramedical Institute of Medical Technology (PIMT), D.I.Khan is located in Dera Township, adjacent to the Mufti Mahmood Memorial Teaching Hospital, on a spacious 40-Kanal campus.

The Institute offers the Two-Year Allied Health Sciences Diploma and is equipped with classrooms, demonstration rooms, a museum, a library, an auditorium/examination hall, transport facilities, and a hostel that accommodates around 120 male students — making it one of the better-resourced paramedical training campuses in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
