The Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA) is an attached department of the Health Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, established to strengthen human resource development in the health sector through quality education, professional training, applied research, and institutional excellence. Originally established in the early 1990s as the Provincial Health Development Centre (PHDC) under the World Bank’s Family Health Project, the institution was upgraded and formally designated as the Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA) on 31st August 1999. Since its inception, PHSA has been entrusted with the administrative and financial oversight of nursing institutions, paramedical institutes, public health schools, and Divisional Health Development Centres across the province. Today, PHSA serves as the premier provincial institution for health workforce development, managing a network of 24 allied health educational and training institutions spread across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
