The Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA) is an attached department of the Health Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, established to strengthen human resource development in the health sector through quality education, professional training, applied research, and institutional excellence.
Originally established in the early 1990s as the Provincial Health Development Centre (PHDC) under the World Bank’s Family Health Project, the institution was upgraded and formally designated as the Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA) on 31st August 1999. Since its inception, PHSA has been entrusted with the administrative and financial oversight of nursing institutions, paramedical institutes, public health schools, and Divisional Health Development Centres across the province.
Today, PHSA serves as the premier provincial institution for health workforce development, managing a network of 24 allied health educational and training institutions spread across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Administration Block houses the offices of the Director General PHSA and the Academy's administrative, finance, and human resource wings that oversee the province-wide network of nursing colleges, paramedic institutes, public health schools, and Divisional Health Development Centres (DHDCs).
The Academic Block houses the Laboratory, Training Halls, Nursing Section, IT Section, the Development & HRD Section, and the PHSA Library.
Dedicated training halls within the Academic Block are used for classroom instruction, in-service training sessions, workshops, and seminars for both students and serving Health Department staff.
The Nursing Section supports the Academy's nursing colleges with dedicated demonstration rooms and teaching space for practical nursing skills training.
The IT Section maintains the Academy's computer labs, digital infrastructure, and the online admission and institute portals used across PHSA's affiliated institutes.
The Development and Human Resource Development (HRD) Section designs and delivers in-service training, continuing professional development, and management courses for the provincial health workforce.
The PHSA Library provides students and staff with reference material, textbooks, and study resources supporting the Academy's nursing, paramedical, and public health training programmes.
