Introduction
The School/College of Nursing Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar was established in 1952-53 under the administrative control of LRH Peshawar. School of Nursing LRH Peshawar was affiliated with Nursing Examination Board, Punjab, Lahore during the year 1981 and registered with Pakistan Nursing Council, Islamabad in 1952-53. Training was started in School of Nursing LRH Peshawar 1953 and inaugurated in 1976 by the Health Minister Arbab Muhammad Jehangir Khan. School of Nursing LRH had 300-seats for General Nursing Training for all over the Province. SON LRH providing 03-years General Nursing Diploma Course and one year Midwifery Diploma Course. During July, 2011, it has come under the administrative control of Director General PHSA Peshawar and nomenclature has been changed into Govt. College of Nursing LRH during the Year 2019 and started BS Nursing degree during the year 2020.
Mission
To introduce and impart standard nursing education with zeal and modern techniques with the requirements of quality health care delivery system and development of public health as well as for the best interest of the community of the region.
Objectives
- To promote and strengthen the nursing skill for better competence in the nursing profession in general and patient care in particular.
- To meet the shortage of qualified nursing personnel in the country in general.
